Expanding Our Commitment to Public & Personal Safety
Our thoughts are with everyone that was in the path of Hurricane Helene. At Genasys, we are committed to enhancing public and personal safety in increasingly complex emergency environments. From data-driven evacuation planning to mass notifications, our solutions are helping communities and people stay informed, manage resources, and coordinate response efforts effectively.
Genasys continues to expand its public safety coverage, securing major contracts with Puerto Rico and the state of Oregon.
The Puerto Rico project is particularly notable, encompassing the implementation of a comprehensive emergency warning system across the island's 37 dams. This initiative, fully funded by the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), marks a key milestone in our mission to protect lives with our cutting-edge technology.
In Oregon, our integrated approach to emergency response is being recognized, with our software becoming a crucial asset in a statewide safety strategy.
As more agencies adopt our systems, awareness of Genasys’ capabilities continues to grow. Law enforcement agencies like the Baltimore Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, and Phoenix Police Department have successfully utilized Genasys CONNECT during civil unrest, providing real-time updates and enabling immediate deployment of resources. In California, EVAC, ALERT, and ACOUSTICS have been instrumental in managing wildfire emergencies, helping to protect millions of residents.
With these recent wins and ongoing use cases, the future looks promising. Awareness of Genasys’ solutions is accelerating, positioning us for substantial growth in the months and years ahead.
Stay safe,

“Utilizing advanced sensors and software, the Genasys Emergency Warning System will enable Emergency Managers to rapidly communicate with residents and visitors that may be in harm’s way in advance of potential structural failures. This project is another illustration of our commitment to improving Puerto Rico and ensuring the safety of those on our island.”
Jose Colon Ortiz, Executive Director, Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority
“What's really exciting is the potential to get all counties and tribes across Oregon on a single system. (Genasys EVAC) software speeds that process up immensely and because fires often cross county boundaries, it also allows counties to work together on the same page to do the best job possible to get timely notifications out to people.”
Ed Flick, Director, Oregon Office of Resilience and Emergency Management
“Genasys Protect was instrumental in notifying community members of evacuations during the Falls and Telephone Fires in Harney County. When time is of the essence, being able to instantly notify community members of updated evacuation levels is crucial. We loved the ease of use and the ability to train new staff members on how to use it in under 1 minute. This is an essential tool during wildfires.”
Melinda Todd, Emergency Manager, Harney County, OR
“I’ve spent considerable time this summer assisting other counties with fire evacuations and have used Genasys to communicate evacuations on numerous incidents. My impression has been incredibly positive on the utility, functionality, and public reception of the program when we have used it on rapidly escalating critical incidents. Having pre-defined zones with easy to communicate nomenclature has significantly eased communication between on-scene responders, emergency management, and the public. When we are making changes quickly, clear, concise communication is key.”
Nick Vora, Emergency Manager, Union County, OR
